Curtis's Charm
is the story of two heroin addicts who originally meet during rehab: Jim,
now recovered, and Curtis, who has gone back to using. Curtis, convinced
that his mother-in-law has placed a voodoo curse on him, spends considerable
mental energy worrying about how to deal with it. When he runs into his
old buddy Jim, Curtis feels he has found a willing pair of ears and his
delusional beliefs spew forth with great vigor. Despite being initially
wary of their "reunion" due to his own changed perspective on life, Jim
nonetheless finds himself compelled to help Curtis through a renewed sense
of loyalty, even though their bond of shared troubles has faded with the
passage of time.
Co-starring as
Jim is Callum Keith Rennie. In 1997, he and Wint worked together again
in an episode of Due South, oddly enough
once more dealing with that bad mojo.
