Maurice Dean Wint
"The Outer Limits - Nightmare"
as
Captain Robert Kimbro

Maurice Dean Wint guest stars in this episode of The Outer Limits portraying Robert Kimbro, Captain of the Starship Archipelago, and leader of a team of six traveling into deep space to deploy an "scientific instrument" in orbit around a supposedly dead world. He and his team are captured by Ebonites and quickly set against each other through the use of brutal interrogations, promises of release, hints of collusion, and other divisionary tactics.

Wint (always effective in leadership roles) does a commendable job with his part, as does most of the cast, but it's not enough to offset a lame and unrealistic plot the outcome of which is obvious early on. Still, some of the special effects are nice--one even borderline horrific, and the acting energetic. Without Wint's presence though, I probably wouldn't have lasted for the full hour.

Defiant in the face of all odds.

United we stand...

The interrogation (torture) begins.

Reminding the troops of enemy tactics.

Extra reminder for the [dumbsh*t] sarge...

Too bad, so sad.

Note 1: The above pictures are not thumbnails. Due to technical difficulties, this batch of pictures came out terrible; I made them small to
minimize their problems. I will replace them with larger and better pictures as soon as possible. Apologies.

Note 2: For some reason, the official Outer Limits site not only has Wint's character misidentified (Roger Kimbro instead of Robert), they also erroneously identify the ship he commands. Go figure.
